"The man who is swimming against the stream knows the strength of it."

I have seen the evidence of this just recently.

A group of people were invested in the potential for greatness that existed around them and yet there were forces at work that made it very difficult for them to achieve their potential. Those forces were not, I hope maliciously bent on the destruction of everything around them but were, instead, most likely misguided in what they perceived as being the important factors. Regardless of the reasons, it was an incredibly strong current at work and those who swam against it knew that it could be at great personal cost to proceed.

And yet they persevered.

I had the opportunity to experience being in the midst of great personal courage and conviction and I hope that these awesome people have the opportunity to achieve the greatness that is within their grasp.

The measure of our greatness is in the adversities that we overcome. As it is often said, if it were easy then anybody could do it.

No one promised "it" would be easy.
Such are times that humble us & help us to believe in ourselves simultaneously.
