Can you say "Congress"?
It is one of the things that I get so tired of with politicians - trying to please everyone instead of offering their own ideas and opinions. I may not agree with them, but I can respect someone who thinks for himself as opposed to doing what everyone else wants.
To thine own self be true.
Trying to please everyone is not only an exercise in futility but also a quick way to drive yourself nuts!
As for "Congress" and what they do or don't do, I have to say that I can appreciate anyone who strives to valiantly represent their constituents even when it may oppose their own views.
It would be those politicians who vote for neither their own conscience nor their constituents needs and, instead, elect to vote for their pocketbooks or other "benefits" that I truly find reprehensible.
