Welcome to the Quote of the Day! This site originated in a small, special education, high school classroom and we talk about these quotes each morning on school days. We'll share our thoughts, feelings, and personal values as we explore the words of others. We look forward to hearing your thoughts as well. If you have a quote that you would like to see used, please send it to: michelle(dot)nvs(at)gmail(dot)com (all lower case).

The quote ought to be what should we live for.
I think a lot of people live for a lot of other reasons, and most (though fortunately not all) are not very altruistic.
But it's still a good goal, isn't it, Pugg?
This was written in a day and age when selfishness was not quite the "norm" and the "me" generation hadn't arrived yet.
That's not to say that life was perfect back then but at least people knew their neighbors and everyone showed up for a barn raising.
We could learn a lot if we could take the best from bygone times and add it to what we know now.
WHAT A CONCEPT! Now, if only everyone of us would put it into practice... ...
