Welcome to the Quote of the Day! This site originated in a small, special education, high school classroom and we talk about these quotes each morning on school days. We'll share our thoughts, feelings, and personal values as we explore the words of others. We look forward to hearing your thoughts as well. If you have a quote that you would like to see used, please send it to: michelle(dot)nvs(at)gmail(dot)com (all lower case).

To express deepfelt, genuine emotion (good or bad) is to be REAL.
Anything else is artificial, shallow, and a waste of time, energy, and attention.
I have more respect for someone who expresses anger appropriately than I would for someone who threw a tantrum.
There is a story of a Buddhist who stands weeping because an elder has died. With sarcasm, a man asks, "An enlightened one crying about death?" The weeping man looks him in the eye and responds, "I am sad."
So many problems in life are brought about by people not dealing with their emotions, and then having them unconsciously control them. Emotions are neither good nor bad, they just are. It is what you do with them, and the choices (conscious or unconscious) that you make because of them that determines your life.
