Rudeness is frequently used in an attempt to control people or manipulate an environment and I agree that it is the often a sign of weakness or lack of self-control.
True strength is required to control one's impulses and emotional responses.
Rudeness is like bullying - bringing down others in order to prop up your own inadequacies.
