Okay, so this is a lot like yesterday's quote but it was a ramdom pull from a can of quotes!
I think he's just saying that everything that happens in your life is up to you. There are no free rides or guarantees. Get out there and earn whatever you want.
It's mostly what you make of it...
a few things, however, are inevitable.
You forgot about taxes! :-)
In keeping with this theme, I am reminded of a quote from a college professor of mine:
"Nothing in life is free, not even this advise."
