Welcome to the Quote of the Day! This site originated in a small, special education, high school classroom and we talk about these quotes each morning on school days. We'll share our thoughts, feelings, and personal values as we explore the words of others. We look forward to hearing your thoughts as well. If you have a quote that you would like to see used, please send it to: michelle(dot)nvs(at)gmail(dot)com (all lower case).

What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly.
Those things you earn are the ones you don't take for granted.
We probably like to think that our values are inherent in the core of who we are as human beings but I believe that they are largely learned responses.
So, if our kids take things for granted we have to, at some point, recognize that we have taught them to do that. If we don't like it then we need to invest the time and energy into teaching them something different.
I resemble this remark. *sigh*
I should have done a better job at teaching my sons the fine art of "appreciation."
Unfortunately!
