This is absolutely known to be true in the world of education and yet how much of what goes on in an average classroom is lecture-based learning?
I can't speak for other schools but I know that this is one area where we, as teachers, are very supported in the classroom at my school.
I think that this may be a contributing factor to why some of our students do so well with us and sometimes have trouble transitioning back to traditional school settings.
Experiencing something makes such a larger imprint than just hearing about it. It is a shame that so many of our schools are only teaching how to pass achievement tests, instead of how to learn.
