How many people only make a living, and don't make a life? How many feel they are too busy making a living to make a life?
I have very little tolerance anymore for those who are too busy/overworked/poor (or any other excuse) to help out someone else. These seem to be the ones that then wonder why things are so bad out there.
Don't get me wrong - I'm not a liberal bleeding heart altruist out there. You don't have to, and can't be expected to, help everybody. But life has to be about more than just yourself.
We can't always choose what we "get" in life but we have total control over what we "give" and that is a concept that many people fail to recognize.
Ironically, it seems that when it comes to things like love, respect, and good will - the more that you GIVE the more that comes back around to you!
