"People with courage and character always seem sinister to the rest."

Hermann Hesse (1877 - 1962)

I'd have to really contemplate this one... sometimes true, as in the lyrics "Most of us hate anything we don't understand." I recall when I was a kid one of my Pentecostal kin (Great Aunt Bernice) claiming that the electric washing machine was the of the devil, & she wouldn't have one in her house- she chose to use a scrub board. My parents just sort of rolled their eyes when she wasn't looking.

There is great variance among people's views... ... Some people are rigid in their thinking, & hold on to what's familiar to them for dear life. While are more open minded, and accepting of new ideas, ... some actually welcome change.

People with these qualities so easily show how many others do not have them, and those others do not like having this truth revealed, so they attack those who would reveal them.

I think that they only seem sinister to those people who cannot understand those qualities.
