Welcome to the Quote of the Day! This site originated in a small, special education, high school classroom and we talk about these quotes each morning on school days. We'll share our thoughts, feelings, and personal values as we explore the words of others. We look forward to hearing your thoughts as well. If you have a quote that you would like to see used, please send it to: michelle(dot)nvs(at)gmail(dot)com (all lower case).

This sounds like an easy no-brainer but it is one of the hugest deficits around the world throughout history and even today.
This statement was made by an abolishionist preacher so it makes perfect sense in that context but look at our current court system today. Criminals are given exceedingly more rights than their victims ever had and the common, hard-working, law abiding citizen seems to have no ACLU championing his/her rights.
We need some kind of balance.
Maybe we should remind our government of these wise words, or perhaps their inverse: Make no restriction on others you're not willing to place upon yourself.
One persons rights end where anothers begins.
I think that it means that what ever you say is right counts for everyone and including yourself.
