Welcome to the Quote of the Day! This site originated in a small, special education, high school classroom and we talk about these quotes each morning on school days. We'll share our thoughts, feelings, and personal values as we explore the words of others. We look forward to hearing your thoughts as well. Hmmm...
I think that 80% of our attention and energy should be concentrated on today but I also think that 10% of our attention should remember the past so that we don't make the same mistakes over and over again.
I also think that 10% of our attention should be aimed at the future so that we can keep our goals in mind and periodically check to make sure that we are going in the direction that we want to be.
I recognize variants of this in both "The Lion King" (Rafiki) and "Star Wars (Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back)" (Yoda).
Very Zen if you ask me, and not very practical.
We do need to focus on today and on this moment of time but if we don't focus on our futuer or our past the we will never beable to accomplish the things that we want to or that we are capable of. however no we shouldn't dwell on the past or futuer just pay a little focus on it. just enought to get through life.
i think that this means that if you think of the past, or the future, you won't be able to make the best decisions possible for the present
