"To build may have to be the slow and laborious task of years. To destroy can be the thoughtless act of a single day."

Sir Winston Churchill (1874-1965)

Destruction is always easier than creation, but it is also necessary, as nothing new can be built if the old is not torn down first.

Creation is tended to be looked as a positive process, and destruction negative. Why is it that the positive, or 'good' things are so much harder than the negative, or 'bad' things?

This makes me think about all of the time, energy, and emotion that can be invested into a relationship and how quickly and easily it can be damaged by a careless word or gesture.

Hi, Dan!

I know that you have recently reached some decisions about what direction you would like for your future to take and that that led to some even harder conclusions about which members of your family would be a part of that.

It sounds like today's quote gives some room for things to improve and possible re-connections with some of your family members.

I really hope that things work out and that you get the greatest possible outcome as it all unfolds.
